The next generation of artists being invested in by the current generation of artists living with and without disability.
Chamaeleon was founded in 2020, named after the constellation and reptile, both constant and adaptable.Our VisionWe want to see equal access and employment opportunities for artists living with disability - Professional, Capable and Fabulous.
Our Mission is to provide professional mentoring and artistic pathways for emerging performing artists living with disability, with the aim of leading to empowerment and employment. We provide opportunities through dance training and intensives with professional artists and performance opportunities.
The first of its kind in the ACT, Chamaeleon becomes the link between community/youth dance and professional practice. We commission internationally recognised artists of all abilities, sharing the work on stage, screen and online to develop awareness and networks with a view to employment, further engagement and networking opportunities.
Chamaeleon commits to 70% of our commissioned and collective artists living with disability, neurodiversity, chronic illness, and/or PTSD.
